About Sticks and Stones of Idaho, USA.
We are a small “growing” group of hard working Americans with heavy equipment, machine and hand crafting skills. Logging trucks bring tree trunks from the nearby forest a short distance away. (New trees are planted). We unload them, let them dry, sort them and turn them into log cabins. Every bit of sawdust and scrap is utilized or sold for a purpose. No waste, we don’t pollute. No streams are dumped into. We believe that God gave us the earth, Palms 115:16 , we must take care of it. Once you have a cabin, you’ll take comfort in the knowledge that your cabin was not built wastefully. We didn’t damage the earth building it.
We utilize American ingenuity. Here it is often referred to as “good ol’ redneck skills”. We don’t have an office with rows of desks or in-house salespeople spending hours on the phone attempting to push you to buy a cabin. That’s the other companies. The ones with the paper plans for $500 to $1000 that will deliver a pile of logs that you assemble.
.
In fact, if you reach anyone on the phone it will most likely be “Bob”. He doesn’t work just 8-5. So, he likes Email contact, as he finally got a nice piece of land and if finishing his cabin in Donnelly, Idaho. If your question is something we hear frequently and relevant to our cabins, we will publish it the TinyLogCabins.net website. Expect to see an expanding FAQ section. This site will be expanding with plenty of “How-to-DIY-Info”. Information that you can review day-or-night 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
Our focus is to build cabins in a cost-effective way. Enable people an affordable home or vacation cabin. Something beyond a shed. Something that doesn’t put you in debt for 100s of thousands of dollars. Like the song says, “Buy Dirt”, then get one of our tiny cabins.
Our site is designed to reveal all – tell all – to a potential owner before they buy. Discover what one can expect and what to do on their own before they purchase. Not after they purchase, before they purchase. You will find lots of “how-to” videos and information. All are available without being forced to fill out an online form to access information. Or wait for days or weeks to receive sales emails or calls that disrupt your day.
Our logs are on a roll, from the hopper through the mill.
We have built about 25 un-finished and 3 finished tiny log houses in the last 10 months. We are now completing a new building to build during winter.
